Overview of Artist Zhu Tian

Chinese born, London-based artist Zhu Tian (b 1982) is a recent graduate of the MA Sculpture course at the Royal College of Art. Encompassing various diverse media, from sculpture and installation to photography, video, sound and performance, her work ouevre displays an unusual combination and balance of being both highly provocative and humorous. She would like it to serve as a ‘hiccup’ – to interupt and disturb. She has exhibited internationally at such venues as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and is winner of the 2014 Broomhill National Sculpture Prize. She was selected for The Emerging Sound Artist in the UK (2009) and was the winner of The Catlin Art Prize 2015. Recent group exhibitions include Nord Art, Kunstwerk Carlshutte, Budelsdorf, Germany; Off Course, Art Brussels, Belgium and Young Gods, Griffin Gallery/Charlie Smith London (all 2015).
